Principal, Ms. Juanita White

Hello, my name is Juanita White, and I am thrilled to join Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary School as the new principal, bringing passion for education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. The 2024-2025 school year is my 25th year in education, and I look forward to empowering students, supporting teachers, and collaborating with families to create a community where every child can thrive.  

Before stepping into the role of principal, I served as the Assistant Principal at Burton Hill Elementary School for three years and Versia Williams Elementary School for seven years.  Prior to being a school administrator, I served as a classroom teacher for 14 years at Richard J. Wilson Elementary School.  My leadership style is rooted in the belief that every student has unique strengths and potential, and that it is the responsibility of the school community to help each child realized their fullest potential. 

I am honored to lead Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary School, and I am committed to ensuring that every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.  

Assistant Principal, Sonja Lane Henry

Hello, my name is Ms. Sonja Lane, and I'm excited to announce that i will be your new Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. Also, I'm excited to celebrate my 10th year in education!  

A little about myself: my journey in education has included receiving a Masters in Urban Education from Southern Methodist University and and Undergraduate degree from Langston University. I have held the position of Pre-K, 3rd, and 4th grade teacher, Instructional Coach and Assistant Principal for 5 years.

I strongly believe that it's the responsibility of the school administration, parents, and community to ensure ALL students are provided the tools to succeed socially and academically. Equality in Education

I am looking forward to servicing the community, students, and staff of Van Zandt-Guinn Elementary.
